NTPC Ltd receives performance excellence award

New Delhi, Mar 8: NTPC Ltd has been ranked top awardee for excellence in performance by Department of Public Enterprises, for 2004-05 and 2005-06.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh presented the MoU awards to NTPC Chairman and Managing Director T Sankaralingam at the conference of chief executives of CPSEs here today.

''The company has been achieving excellent rating under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the government evert year since inception of the MoU system and has sustained high level of operational and financial performance,'' an official statement said.

The other awardees in the category are Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Power Grid Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation, Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd and State Trading Corporation among others.
