Militant shot dead by troops

Imphal, Mar 8 (UNI) Troops of 34 Assam Rifles shot dead a 'Sergeant Major' of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) today at Toubulin in Bishenpur district.

The PRO of Assam Rifles said the militant was shot dead during a joint operation launched by the troops. One 9 mm pistol, two magazines and nine live rounds of ammunition were recovered from the deceased.

Operation was still going on in the area, he added.
