Quake in western Iran injures 35
Tehran, Mar 7: An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale hit an area in western Iran today, injuring 35 people, the official news agency IRNA reported.
It said the quake struck an area near the town of Doroud in Lorestan province.
No other details were immediately available.
Natural disaster experts say oil-producing Iran is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world because it is criss-crossed by several major fault lines.
