KIM demands solution to Kuki problems while holding talks with NSCN
Imphal, March 7 (UNI) The Kuki Inpi Manipur(KIM), the apex body of the Kuki tribe, has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to settle the Kuki issues, while holding talks with the NSCN(IM).
Secretary to Information of KIM P Lupheng in a letter addressed to the PM, said that while the Centre is preparing to hold talks with the NSCN(IM), the interest of the Kuki tribes should not be sidelined.
He said about 360 Kuki villages involving about one lakh Kuki tribes were displaced during the peak Kuki Naga conflict.
Without settling the Kuki tribe's issue, any settlement with the NSCN(IM) will adversely affect the cause of the Kuki people, he said. If the demand was not conceded, any settlement with the NSCN will be rejected, he also said.
