Shimla, Mar 7 (UNI) Two Cabinet ministers in the Himachal Pradesh Government today refuted charges of corruption levelled against them by the state BJP unit in a chargesheet submitted to Governor V S Kokje yesterday.

State Forest Minister Ram Lal Thakur and Excise and Taxation Minister Rangila Ram Rao, in separate press conferences, refuted the charges leveled against them, saying that the BJP should file an affidavit with the Lokayukta on the charges instead of making baseless allegations.

Mr Thakur said he was taking legal opinion from his lawyers on the issue and would take the matter to the court since they had attempted to tarnish his image.

Expressing anger over the inclusion of his wife and son's name in the charge sheet for having assets disproportionate to their known sources of income, he said the BJP was desperate to score a point over the Congress.

He said a petrol pump was allotted to his son in Bilaspur district of the state after fulfilling all formalities, unlike a petrol pump allotted to former chief minister P K Dhumal's son at Jalandhar was cancelled for not fulfilling the norms.

''Unlike others, my son is an income tax payee for the last 11 years,'' he asserted.

Refuting charges that he owned a building at Shimla and plot in Parwanoo in Solan district, the minister said he owned a seven-bigha plot and an ancestral house in Namhol area of Bilaspur district only.
