FB to submit alternative industrial policy to WB Gov.

Kolkata, Mar 7 (UNI) Apprehending that foreign multinational companies will have a free run in West Bengal in view of the Left Front government's ''liberal policy.'' All India Forward Bloc today pressed for an alternative industrial and agricultural policy while opposing setting up of SEZ and amendment to the Land Ceiling Act.

''This is the first time that we have submitted an alternative industrialisation and agricultural policy to the state government but not creating the history as a Front partner'', AIFB state secretary Ashoke Ghosh told reporters here.

He said ''We will not accept the setting up of SEZ, we need to amend the existing Land Ceiling Act and the government should compensate rehabilitation package to those who have given lands for the Industry.'' ''We want agriculture and industrialisation in the state. We need to produce more agricultural products with the help of modern technology and with high quality seeds and industrialisation at the same time,'' Mr Ghosh said.

''He said that AIFB has already submitted our alternative proposals to Left Front chairman and CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose, Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta and the Front partners and will also distribute to it all to elected Assembly members, including MPs and Rajya Sabha members, Mr Ghosh said.
