Environment activist denounces cock fight

Aizawl, Mar 7: Environment activist New World Laldingliana has urged the law enforcing agencies to stop cock fighting.

After successfully preventing Sechhun, traditional spearing of Mithun, being staged at Chapchar Kut, the biggest community festival of Mizoram, Laldingliana raised voice against this event.

Cock fighting was conducted every Saturday at the Animal Husbandry&Veternary directorate complex at Khatla in Aizawl and Mizos enjoy the fight.

''This is a shameful practice and violation of the law. Law enforcing agencies must stop this cruel practice,'' Laldingliana said.
