Shimla, Mar 7 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister P K Dhumal today demanded an inquiry by CBI or a sitting judge of the High Court into the charges of corruption levelled by his party in its chargesheet, saying it had no faith in the present government since it had not taken any action on its previous chargesheets.

''Since the government had not taken any action on its previous chargesheets, it will be futile to hand over documents to it in support of its charges,'' he said at a press conference here.

Mr Dhumal said his party would handed over documents in support of its charges once the government decides to hand over the investigations to a particular agency.

Replying to a question, he said the party would consider releasing the documents in support of the charges at an appropriate time.

He said charges of corruption leveled in its earlier charge sheets against some of the ministers had proved true with the government suspending 16 employees in the construction of Dharwala road scam.

However, he regretted that no action had been taken against the contractor who had committed the irregularities by carrying out works of Rs 15 lakh only as against a payment of Rs 1.65 crore.

Referring to the CPMT issue, he said despite an assurance from the Chief Minister that officers investigating the case would not be transferred in the next two years, according to his knowledge several officers were likely to be transferred soon.
