BJP leader Dhirubhai Patel passes away

Bordi, Thane, Mar 7 (UNI) Dhirubhai Ramabhai Patel (58), a senior BJP leader from Thane district, (58), died of a massive heart attack this afternoon while he was busy in the electioneering for the party for the March 11 Zilla Parishad elections.

Party sources told UNI, Mr Patel was busy in election work when the end came. Patel was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Mr Patel was responsible for the growth of the party in the region, especially in Bordi of Thane district. He had also been an 'Upasarpanch' of Bordi Panchayat.

Mrs Manisha Chowdhary, chief of the Women's wing of the party, in her condolence message described said the death of the leader as a great loss for the party at this crucial hour.
