Perfume manufacturing unit damaged

Agartala, Mar 6 (UNI) A perfume oil manufacturing unit at Bodhjungnagar industrial growth centre here has been gutted by a devasting fire last evening.

Official sources said the fire was caused by a short circuit. The preliminary estimate of loss was put at around Rs one crore, sources added.

However, the main unit of the factory could be saved from the blaze as eight engines of fire service rushed to the spot. The fire tenders fought for more than two hours to bring the fire under control.

Tripura Industry Minister Tapan Chakraborty and Industrial Development Chairman Pabitra Kar visited the spot.
