JMM to reconsider its support to Koda govt
Ranchi, Mar 6 (UNI) The killing of JMM MP Sunil Mahto by Maoist rebels has dealt a blow to the 5-month-old Madhu Koda led UPA Government as the party (JMM) having the highest 17 Mlas in the 82-member house deciding to reconsider its support to the ruling regime in Jharkhand.
JMM general secretary Hemlal Murmu (MP) told reporters in Dumka last night that as per jailed JMM supremo Sibu Soren, the Central Working Committee of JMM would meet here on March 7 to discuss besides the killing of Mahto, another vital issue of continuing support to the Koda government. Yesterday Murmu had called on Soren in the jail.
The JMM's propsed CWC meeting assumed significance in terms of the future of the Government as Congres, another ally of the UPA, came down heavily on Mr Koda on prevailing law and order situation and demanding president's rule in the state.
The JMM leader in Dumka stressed for a common platform comprising all political parties to evolve consensus to solve the militancy in the state. He said the Centre should initiate steps to check the menace adding altogther 18 out of total 22 districts were dominated by Maoist ultras.
