Ittiam Systems Select Altera's Stratix II FPGAs for Multi-Format

Bangalore, Mar 6 (UNI) A city based company Altera Corporation today announced that Ittiam Systems specialising in digital signal processing (DSP) systems, has selected the industry-leading Stratix II FPGA family to develop and deliver the Trinity multi-format high-definition video decoder (MFVDEC) soft intellectual property (IP) core.

Vice President of the System on Chip Business of Ittiam Systems Ravi Shankar Ganesan said in a press release that Stratix II FPGAs provided Ittiam with a new and innovative architecture that offered higher performance and higher density at a lower cost.

The IP core was designed for digital TV, high-definition (HD) DVD, HDI Plasma TV and HD set-top-box solutions.
