IBS turns an OTA member
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 6 (UNI) IBS Software Services, a leading provider of IT solutions to the travel, transportation and logistics industries, has now become a member of the Open Travel Alliance (OTA).
With this association, IBS would be an active participant in developing e-business specifications to support information exchange among all segments of the travel industry, a release said here today.
OTA a not-for-profit trade association, founded by travel companies in 1999 focused on the creation of electronic message structures to facilitate communication between the desparate systems in the global travel industry, it said.
The OTA members would identify, prioritize and create the needed messages. It helped the member companies meet inter-operability requirements among themselves, with their partners and their clients.
It would reduce time-to-market for new products and services, decrease IT costs, better servicing partners and customers, and increase credibility in the marketplace, it added.
The membership would give the IBS an opportunity to share information, network with business and technology leaders across the travel industry and participate in the OTA workgroups and sub-committees.
According to Chairman and Managing Director of IBS group V K Mathews, "OTA is a forum comprising members with a common goal of developing a part of a specification that may span some or all travel industry segments and their representative OTA Work Group. We are aligned to their mission of creating, expanding and adopting open universal data specifications, for the electronic exchange of business information among all sectors of the industry".
"We are pleased to have IBS as a member", said OTA Executive Director Valyn Perini.
