Congress Bhawan reopened at Barrackpore

Barrackpore, Mar 6 (UNI) Former West Bengal Pradesh Congress president Somen Mitra today reopened the 50-year-old Congress Bhawan, one of the oldest structures here, which had a glorious history of country's freedom struggle.

The Congress Bhawan was was locked for many years.

Mr Mitra also called upon the veterans and youths to organise the party from grass roots so that strong opposition force could be built to face the Left Front's government "acquisition policy".

He said the CPI(M) led Government was "autocratic" as land acquisition for industrialisation was done despite opposition from large chunk of farmers at Singur.
