CM claims all round development in HP

Shimla, Mar 6 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today claimed all round development in the state during the last four years and said it had emerged as a role model for other states of the country.

The Congress Government has successfully taken Himachal to the path of progress and development and had been honoured in various sectors for performing better in comparison to other states, he said while addressing a rally here on completion of four years of the Congress Government in the state.

Referring to the budget proposals for the next year, Mr Singh said the Congress government had initiated several measures to curb inflation, which had ailed the common man.

The Congress, as in the past, would continue to focus its attention to the development works which had taken the state several steps ahead of the other states, he said.

HPCC President Viplove Thakur appreciated the development works undertaken by the Congress government and the budget proposals for next fiscal, saying these would help in checking prices of essential commodities.

The other leaders addressing the rally vowed to come back to power in the 2008 assembly elections, claiming the people' were with them.

Besides highlighting the development works undertaken by the government, a majority of the Congress leaders praised UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh for all round development of the state in the last four years.
