Bombers kill 47 pilgrims near Iraq's Hilla-police

HILLA, Iraq, Mar 6 (Reuters) The death toll from suicide bomb attacks on Shi'ite pilgrims near the Iraqi town of Hilla today rose to 47, police said.

They said 117 people had been wounded. Hospital officials had earlier put the death toll at 30. Streams of Shi'ite pilgrims are heading to the holy city of Kerbala to commemorate a religious event.
