BJP criticises Deshmukh
Mumbai, Mar 6 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP spokesman Madhu Chavan today criticised Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh for challenging NCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil to win the elections on the strength of party workers and not on the police force.
Mr Deshmukh had reportedly made this statement at a public meeting at Chakan while campaigning for Zilla Parishad elections.
Mr Chavan, MLC, said it was unfortunate Mr Deshmukh made this statement about his colleague, who holds charge of the Home department.
He said if the NCP was winning the elections on the strength of police force, then Mr Deshmukh should sack Mr Patil from the ministry or he should resign himself.
