Ambareesh confident his resignation would be accepted
Bangalore, Mar 6 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting M H Ambareesh, who had resigned from the Union Cabinet and the Lok Sabha membership in protest against the ''unjust'' verdict of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, today exuded confidence that it would be accepted by the competent authorities.
Speaking to newspersons after attending a function at the PES Institute of Technology here, he said he still stuck to his decision to quit the posts.
Declining to comment any further on the issue, the actor-turned- politician said he would make all efforts to ensure that his resignation was accepted.
It may be recalled here that Mr Ambareesh, representing the Cauvery heartland of Mandya in Parliament, had put in his papers last month and announced his decision to join the widespread Cauvery agitation. However, his resignation was yet to be accepted as it was not in the right format.
