Naidu blames UPA for price hike

Visakhapatnam, Mar 5 (UNI) BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu today accused the UPA government at the Centre of not controlling the spiralling prices of essential commodities and neglecting rural community.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Naidu said the farmers were committing suicide due to lack of adequate prices for their products.

Mr Naidu claimed the budget did not allocate sufficient funds for National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).

He alleged that the UPA government was pursuing anti-people policies.

The assembly election results of Punjab and Uttarkhand show people's rejection of the UPA government.

Charging the UPA government with laxity in dealing with naxal menace, he said the naxalite activities had increased manifold and the killing of JMM Lok Sabha member by naxalites was an example to it.

The UPA had also failed to act properly in the Quattrocchi's case and his party would raise the issue in Parliament till the government comes out with a proper explanation, he said.

About Uttar Pradesh elections, he said the BJP would fight alone if the situation demands.
