Former Anand BJP chief quits party
Anand, Mar 5 (UNI) Former president of Anand district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lalsinh Udaisinh Vadodia, today resigned from the primary membership of the party in protest against the neglect by the party higher-ups and said he will join the Congress anytime after March 15.
Addressing reporters at the Circuit House annexe here, Mr Vadodia said he has sent in his resignation to Mr Mukesh Patel, President of the district unit.
In his letter, Mr vadodia complained of being ignored by the party higher-ups, especially after the end of his tenure as Anand BJP president in 2002.
''I am being ignored, humiliated since no invitation reaches me of any BJP programme,'' Mr Vadodia said.
He also complained in his letter about the relaxation of prohibition regulations affecting the poor. Despite several leaders requesting the state government to 're-think' on prohibition relaxation, no heed has been paid to the reasonable demand, he said in his resignation letter.
