Engineer from Aurangabad wins Harley Davidson
Bangalore, Mar 5 (UNI) Mr M Satish, Assistant Manager (Engineering) of Aurangabad based Varroc Engineering Pvt Ltd today became the pride winner of a Harley Davidson Motorbike presented by leading Machine Tool company Kennametal following a contest it conducted during the recent IMTEX exposition here.
Kennametal India Managing Director Kumar Kanetkar told newsmen here that the contest was conducted from among 35,000 visits to the Kennametal stall at IMTEX over the seven day period of the exposition. Each day a lucky winner was chosen of whom one emerged the winner of the motorcycle whose listed price was 15,00O US dollars.
He said Kennametal had received specific requirements of around 2500 during the show of which every one was being followed up for potential business.
He said that the company witnessed a compounded annual growth rate of 30 per cent over the last four years. The machine tool industry alone witnessed a 10 per cent growth last year in view of the market being in cyclic in nature. Previous year the company had recorded a 70 per cent growth. The Indian machine tool industry was currently witnessing a 20 to 25 per cent annual growth rate, he added.
He said that the boom in the manufacturing sector was contributing to the growth. The Manufacturing sector has to maintain more than 11 per cent growth rate it had been witnessing over the last eight months to sustain GDP growth of eight to nine per cent, he added.
