BJP leader attacked, 2 nabbed
Pune, Mar 5 (UNI) BJP candidate for the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections, Shashikant Shitole, was attacked by unidentified persons in the city's Sanghvi area today.
The Chaturshrangi Police, who are investigating the case, have apprehended the alleged attackers Vijay Jagtap and Dhanjay Dore from the Chaturshringi area this afternoon.
Police said the assailants attacked Mr Shitole while he was taking his daughter to school on his motercycle. The reason behind the attack was said to be a political rivarly.
The miscreants attacked the BJP leader with a chopper and severed both his hands and also inflicted head injury. Mr Shitole was rushed to a nearby Sancheti Hospital, where he is under medical observation, police said.
