Avalanche kills child in Russian resort

MOSCOW, Mar 4 (Reuters) An avalanche killed a 10-year-old child in a Russian ski resort today, Interfax news agency reported.

It quoted local emergency officials as saying a total of four people were swept away after the avalanche hit the Krasnaya Polyana resort near the town of Sochi which is competing to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
