3 kidnapped at gunpoint near Gandacherra PS

Agartala, Mar 4: A group of armed extremists kidnapped two labourers and a truck driver at gunpoint on Jagabandhu Para main road, near Gandacherra police station last night.

At about 2200 hours, the extremists kidnapped the labourers Jiban Orao (23) and Bijay Orao (22), both from Ranchi, and the driver Pradip Debnath (20) of Kamalapur.

At the time of the incident, the victims were sleeping in their truck and were hence caught off-gaurd.

Later, the driver managed to escape from their captivity unhurt.

Subdivisional police officer, Gandaacherra and officer-in-charge, Gandacherra police station were conducting operations in the case.
