Six killed; three injured in accident: Krishnagar

Krishnagar, Mar 3: At least six people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles on NH-34 at Ghatagachi near Ranaghat police station this morning.

Police said the incident occurred when an oil tanker collided with a car, carrying five passengers, who were on their way to Mayapur for celebrating Holi.

While three women and two children died on the spot, the driver of the car succumbed to his injuries in the sub-divisional hospital. The injured were taken to a local hospital.

All the deceased belonged to Central Kolkata, police added.
