Patil ensures assistance from Centre for Nanded Tricentenary
Nanded, Maharashtra, Mar 3 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil today assured all kind of assistance from the Centre for the 'Guru Ta Gaddi' 'Tricentenary Celebrations' scheduled to be held here in October next year.
Addressing a news conference, after attending a review meeting, Mr Patil agreed that it was a difficult task before the administration to accomodate around 25 lakh visitors expected to arrive in the city for the event.
However, Mr Patil assured that the Centre will ensure all kind of assistance to the local administration in this regard.
The city will be connected by road to the National Highways and efforts are already on towards improvement and expansion of the Nanded Airport, he said.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Union Minister of state for rural development Ms Suryakanta Patil, Union Tourism Minister Ambika Soni, Gurudwari Board Chairman and Director General of Police (Maharashtra) P S Pasricha were present on the occasion.
