Huts destroyed in Pondy fire

Puducherry, Mar 3 (UNI) As many as 80 thatched huts were gutted in a fire at Davidpet here this afternoon.

Fire tenders from Puducherry town, Gorimedu,Villianur and Kalapet rushed to the spot and doused the flames.

Electric short circuit is reported to have caused the fire. The loss is yet to be estimated.

However, there was no loss of life.
