BJP seeks Hooda's resignation over dalits attacks
Karnal, Mar 3: The BJP in Haryana today demanded resignation ofChief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for ''increasing atrocities'' ondalits during his tenure.
BJP state vice president Ratan Lal Kataria, after visiting thetroubled Salwan village where dalit houses were set on fire on Marchone, said Mr Hooda had learnt no lessons from Gohana and Mehmadpurincidents wherein dalits had suffered the upper caste fury.
Describing the alleged apathy of the Chief Minister in this regardas extremly unfortunate, he said the BJP would take up the matter inthe ongoing session of Parliament.
He demanded rehablitation of the dalit families in the village on a war footing.
He also demanded Rs ten lakh compensation to the family ofManipal, a Rajput farmer of Salwan, who was allegedly killed by twodalits of the village and whose death had triggered the attack on thedalits.
Former Union Minister of State for Home I D Swami was also present in the press conference.
