Badal, ministers pay obeisance at Golden Temple
Amritsar, Mar 3 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, accompanied by many of his cabinet collegues today paid obeisance at the Golden Temple, the holiest of Sikh shrines, to express gratitude over his recent success at the assembly polls.
Mr Badal prayed front of the Akal Takht along with his son Sukhbir Singh Badal. A number of SAD-BJP leaders including Ms Lakshmi Kanta Chawla and local MLA Anil Joshi, were also present on the occasion.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committtee (SGPC) later presented the Sikh leader with a Saropa (robe of honour) and other mememtos including a picture of the Golden Temple. They prayed Chief Minister take the state and its people to new heights of prosperity and happiness the grace of the Gurus.
Mr Badal promised to do his best to serve the people of the state.
The Chief Minister also paid tributes to the martyrs at the Jalianwala Bagh and prayed at the Durgiana Temple.
