Amar Singh's allegation on Mulayam issue baseless: PM

New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party General Secretary, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said Amar Singh's allegation against the Congress-led government on the Mulayam Singh issue was baseless.

''I don't want to comment on what individuals say, but his (Amar Singh's) allegation has no basis,'' Dr Singh told reporters after releasing the book, ''The Cultural Heritage of India Vol VII (Part One), edited by Art Historian Kapila Vatsyayan.'' At a press conference on Thursday, Mr Amar Singh had alleged that the Congress was using the CBI and the judiciary for its political ends.

He had also played an audio CD in which, Mr Amar Singh claimed, the petitioner in the Mulayam Singh disproportionate assets case talked of fixing judges.
