RLD leaders from West UP join SP

Lucknow, Mar 2 (UNI) Leaders from Ajit Singh-led Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) from western Uttar Pradesh today joined the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) ahead of the state assembly elections.

The five RLD leaders who joined SP are office bearers at various levels in Bijnore district.

Those who joined the party in the presence of SP leader and state PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav are Ashok Chaudhury (district president), his wife Santosh Chaudhury (a zilla panchayat member), Naresh Singh (district secretary), Sansar Singh (general secretary) and Subhash Singh Rana.

RLD had recently severed its ties with the SP over the issue of cane prices.
