Govt says no orders passed AC bars
Chennai, Mar 2 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government today denied passing any order for opening air-conditioned bars in TASMAC retail outlets selling Indian Made Foreign Liquor in the state.
Reacting to reports in a section of the press that the government had issued orders to open 300 A/C bars and fixed an entry fee of Rs 10 per head, an official release here said the government had not issued any such order.
Meanwhile, police arrested five people in charge of TASMAC retail outlets in Salem for opening illegal A/C bars. Police said they were arrested for opening bars when the government had not passed any order or given permission to this effect.
