3 Maoists killed in encounter

Rajahmundry, Mar 2 (UNI) Three unidentified Maoists, including a woman, were killed in an exchange of fire with police early today near Marrigudem in Y Ramavaram Mandal in Donkaraya Police Limits of East Godavari District.

According to police sources, a joint team of Greyhounds and special police party were conducting combing operations near the border with Orissa when the Maoists opened fire on them.

The security personnel retaliated, killing the three Maoists.

Three SPBL guns, a hand grenade, three kit bags and literature were seized from the spot.

Two constables received bullet injuries during the exchange of fire.
