Two hard core militants surrender

Agartala, Mar 1 (UNI) In a joint operation, Assam Rifles and Border Security Forces detained two hardcore terrorists who surrendered before the 15 Assam Rifles at Teliamura on February 27, official sources said.

Detainees Biraha Kumar Jamatia alias Yakharia of All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) and Geeta Tripura alias Kaplop of National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) deposited two 38 factory-made revolvers along with six live rounds of 38 ball ammunitions.

The Assam Rifles, the BSF and the State Police had been jointly operating to nab these militants. The total number of terrorists who have surrendered before the 15 Assam Rifles alone in the last four months is 21.
