Reconstruct Dharampur-Sabathu Bridge

Solan, Mar 1 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has directed the Railway authorities to re-construct the Dharampur-Sabathu Bridge at the earliest for which a sum of Rs 10 lakh had already been released.

A Bailey Bridge could also be constructed at the site to allow movement of railway traffic, in case sufficient time was required to construct a new bridge here, state Chief Secretary S S Parmar said at a meeting called to review the situation due to the unsafe condition of the bridge yesterday.

Mr Parmar said apart from the Rs 10 lakh sanctioned from the Railway Ministry for the construction of the bridge, the state government was willing to pay any additional amount for its early re-construction.

The re-construction of the Bridge was essential for movement of railway traffic from Dhundun, Shalaghat and Shimla stations, he said.

The Chief Secretary directed the state PWD to provide all assistance to the railway engineers in the construction of the bridge.
