Ram temple always a BJP priority: Rajnath

Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh, Mar 1 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh today said that the proposed Ram temple at Ayodhya was never a poll issue for the BJP but construction of the shrine has always been "a priority".

The BJP president's comment came in response to a media query on the coming Uttar Pradesh assembly election. Mr Singh was here to drum up support for party nominee Kunwar Singh ahead of the March 8 bypoll to Sidhi (ST) parliamentary constituency.

''Whether the solution emerges through discussion or a court verdict, we are strong proponents of temple construction. After coming to power, the BJP will even frame a law in this regard, if the need arises,'' he said.
