Rains extends cold in Rajasthan
Jaipur, Mar 1 (UNI) Continuing rains and partly cloudy skies in Rajasthan have brought a turnaround in the weather with temperatures tumbling down two to three degrees Celsius.
Jodhpur recorded maximum rainfall measuring 23.7 mm till 0830 hrs in the morning today. It is raining across the state from north to south and east to west.
The meteorological office recorded 8.6 mm rainfall in the state capital, bringing down the minimum temperature to 13.2 degrees Celsius from yesterday's 16 degrees Celsius. The rain and thunder storm which hit the city yesterday have brought back the nip in the air.
According to Met office, Ajmer recorded 1.6 mm rainfall, Bhilwara 2, Bharatpur 10.8, Dholpur, Pilani 10, Kota 4.3, Sawai Madhopur 7, Bundi 6.9, Barmer 9.2, Jaisalmer 2, Bikaner 1.2, Churu 5.5 and Ganganagar 3 mm.
The forecast said more rains are likely to occur across the state accompanied with thunder storm over the next 24 hours. The sudden rain is mainly because of western disturbance and development of a cyclonic system.
The minimum temperature ranged from 12 to 16 degrees Celsius.
State's only hill station recorded 12 degrees Celsius. Ganganagar along the state's borders was cold at 12 degrees Celsius and remained the coldest place in the plains.
Pilani recorded 12.8, Bikaner 13.1, Jaisalmer 13.2, Churu 13.7, Bharatpur 14.9, Bhilwara and Dabok 15, Ajmer 15.4, Barmer 15.6, Kota, Bundi, Udaipur 15.8 and Jodhpur 16.6 degrees Celsius.
