PNB increases rates on schemes

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UNI) Punjab National Bank (PNB) today revised its fixed deposit schemes namely 'PNB Mahabachat' and 'PNB tax saver fixed deposit scheme'.

Rate of interest in 'PNB Mahabachat' has been raised to 9.5 per cent for the period one year to less than two years and 9.25 per cent for the period two years to less than three years and nine per cent for three years, the Bank said in a statement here.

Minimum deposit for the scheme has also been reduced from Rs 50,000 to Rs 25,000.

Similarly rate of interest in 'PNB tax saver fixed deposit scheme' has also been increased from eight per cent to 8.5 per cent.

However, for senior citizens, rate of interest has been revised to nine per cent in tax saver scheme, the statement added.
