Opposition appeals Gavai to cancel BPL list
Patna, Mar 1 (UNI) Drawing the attention of Governor R S Gavai towards discrepancies in the Below Poverty Line list, the Opposition parties in Bihar today requested him to direct the Government to cancel the existing list.
Opposition RJD leader Rabri Devi along with all other oppostion leaders alleged that the genuine names had been deleted from the list, while some names from the affluent section had been introduced and the poor were being deprived of the benefits of the welfare schemes which were carried out on the basis of the list.
They said the organisations engaged to prepare the list were irresposnible.
They requested Mr Gavai to intervene for the sake of the poor.
