LIC Branch Manager sentenced for two years RI
Visakhapatnam, Mar 1 (UNI) A Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Branch Manger was sentenced to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in connection with payment of a death claim here.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Superintendent of Police Sai Manohar in a release said, the prosecution charged W Giridhar for demanding the money as illegal gratification from the complainant G Ramakrishna on October 31, 2001 for settling the death claim of his son.
A fine of Rs 2000 was also imposed of Mr Giridhar.
