IIIT developing machine language translation software
Allahabad, Mar 1 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) here is developing a software 'machine translation system' from one language to another.
The prime objective of the assignment given to the IIIT, Allahabad by the Department of Communication and Information Technology, government of India, is to build the machine translation system from Urdu to English and English to Urdu.
Experts of the eight prominent universities, including the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, IIIT Allahabad and Hyderabad, have assembled in the city to discuss various aspects of the ministry's project.
Presently, the IIIT, Allahabad is developing modules such as entity filter for English and generation of corresponding Urdu entities, morph analyser and generation in Urdu from well defined chunks in English.
