Congress thanks Sacha Sauda for support in Malwa

Chandigarh, March 1 (UNI) Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Shamsher Singh Dullo today expressed the party's gratitude for the support lent by the political wing of the Dera Sacha Sauda.

''The whole-hearted support by the Sacha Sauda workers in the Malwa region has enabled the Party to expand its influence in the political bastion of the Akali Dal for the first time in the recent history, he said.

''Even when the results are un-expected in the Majha and Doaba regions, the party cadre should not lose heart and come forward to work more vigorously to serve the people of Punjab and carry out the policies and programmes of the Congress Party,'' Mr Dullo said in his message to the people of Punjab.

The PPCC chief also thanked the Congress workers and the people of Punjab for extending their vote and support to the Party in large numbers.

Mr Dullo said that he and his Party gracefully accepted and respected the verdict of the people of Punjab.

Though the people of Punjab supported the development plank of the Congress but in some segments ''we might have lacked somewhere which the Party would amend in future, whenever given a chance'', Mr Dullo said, while thanking the people of Punjab for maintaining peace and harmony except for some small incidents.
