Anti-Incumbency factor worked in Uttarakhand and Punjab:Lalu

Patna, Mar 1 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today said anti- incumbency factor worked in Uttarakhand and Punjab where ''secular parties lost seats to the saffron brigade.'' Mr Prasad told newspersons here that internal wranglings within the Congress was also a major factor for the defeat of the party in the elections to the Punjab and Uttarakhand assemblies.

Congress performed well in the rural areas of both the states whereas in the urban area, the performance of BJP was better, he added.
