Tekchandani is the new CEO of RAK Airways

Dubai, Feb 28: An Indian national will take charge as the new headof fledgling RAK Airways, the UAE's fourth national airline, after itsacked its chief executive officer Jack Romero, news reports said.

''Jack Romero did not quit the company but was terminated,''explained Dr Khater Massaad, Managing Director and one of the boardmembers of RAK Airways, adding he was unable to deliver on what wasexpected of him.

Mr Romero, who joined the company in May last year, will bereplaced by Mr Kishu Tekchandani, who was shortlisted for the post offulltime Chairman for Airport Authority of India.

Mr Tekchandani, who is expected to take over tomorrow, is giventhe brief to accelerate the launch of the airline as per schedule inApril this year, quoted Emirates Today.

RAK Airways has received the Air Operator's Certificate from the federal government's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
