Senegal's Wade wins re-election -government sources
DAKAR, Feb 27 (Reuters) Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade has won re-election with an unassailable lead according to results from almost all the West African country's constituencies, government sources said today.
''With this score, a first round win is secured,'' said one of the sources, who asked not to be named. With 95 percent of votes counted, Wade had won 56.08 per cent of valid votes, the sources told Reuters.
Votes still had to be finalised from only three administrative departments: Koungheul, Kaffrine and overseas voters, the sources said.
Official results from Sunday's poll are due to be released by midnight on Friday, and must then be confirmed by the Constitutional Council once any complaints of irregularities have been dealt with.
Some of Wade's 14 challengers have said they would dispute a first-round win, which they said the president could only achieve through fraud.
