Police launch op to rescue 3 foreigners in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 28: The Jammu and Kashmir police have launched amassive operation to rescue three foreign tourists stranded atHapatkhud in north Kashmir.
A police spokesman said information was received that threeforeign tourists-- Ms Rogni from Norway, Jay from London and Udoo fromIsreal-- were stranded due to heavy snowfall at Hapatkhud severalkilometers from world famous ski resort of Gulmarg.
He said two police teams were rushed to the scene from Gulmarg and Drang, Tangmarg to rescue the tourists.
Official sources said one of the tourist is injured. However, this could not be confirmed officially.
The entire region, including Gulmarg, Khilanmarg and Affarwat experienced heavy snowfall recently.
