Hyderabad, Feb 27: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly today adopted a resolution congratulating Railway Minister Lalu Prasad for the 'pro-poor budget' even as it asked for additional funds for projects in the state.

However, the House plunged into pandemonium with the Opposition demanding scrapping of the sentence lauding the Minister. They wanted a sentence protesting the 'negligence meted out to the state'.

The Chief Minister assured the Opposition yesterday that he would move a resolution asking for more funds for Railway projects in the state and accordingly the resolution was moved.

Amid protest from the Opposition, panel speaker U Purushothama Reddy announced that the resolution was adopted unanimously.

TDP deputy leader T Devender Goud wanted to incorporate the demand for setting up a coach factory in the resolution. He wanted the Chief Minister to lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to present the state's case.

The House rejected an amendment to the resolution proposed by BJP Floor Leader G Kishan Reddy demanding incorporation of a sentence condemning the 'injustice' done to the state.
