Car bomb kills 10 in Baghdad - police
BAGHDAD, Feb 28 (Reuters) A car bomb attack near a vegetable market killed 10 people and wounded seven in southern Baghdad today, Iraqi police said.
They said the bomb went off along a commercial street in the Bayaa neighbourhood of the capital.
US and Iraqi security forces launched a new security crackdown in Baghdad two weeks ago, but car bombings and other attacks have persisted.
American commanders have urged patience, saying it will take time for the offensive against militants to have a lasting impact.
