CADS-SCIA software launches new engineering design

Chennai, Feb 28 (UNI) CADS Software India (CSI), a leading software solutions provider for global construction industry and its Belgium-based-parther company Scientific Applications (SCIA), today launched a new engineering design and detailing software for structural engineers.

Talking to reporters here, CSI Director and CADS UK Director Ian Chambers and SCIA CEO Dr Jean-Pierre Rammant said the two firms have come together in development and marketing to respond to the high demand for integrated software solutions for engineers designing buildings, bridges, complex roof structures, industrial equipment structures and power plants.

To reinforce this product offer, both the CSI and SCIA have set up a development facility and have succeeded in linking the design and detailing software in full conformity with the Indian construction standards.

''With the new design and detailing software, any type of structure, including multi-storey buildings, industrial space, bridges, will be modelled, designed and detailed in a very productive way and to the highest quality standards, besides allowing clients to customise one of the most powerful and innovative design software packages for structural engineers,'' they added.

Mr Chambers said CADS had been working with SCIA in the UK and Ireland as sales partner in offering designing solutions. ''We are now selling the software to Indian customers, thus extending the fruits of the collaboration of the two companies.'' ''It's a major milestone in our progress as there are large potential subscribers in Chennai,'' he added.
