Taliban says US base blast targeted VP Cheney

Kabul, Feb 27: The Taliban said a suicide bomber who killed up to 20 people at the main US base in Afghanistan today was aiming for Vice President Dick Cheney who was visiting at the time.

''We wanted to target ... Cheney,'' Taliban spokesman Mullah Hayat Khan told sources by phone from an undisclosed location.
